The dark figures closed in around her, and panic seized in her belly. She tried to cry out for help, she knew Arthur had to be close, but no sound would come. She was alone, and a cold hand closed around her arm, vice-like -

She woke with a frightened cry.

"Hey," she murmured, giving him a sleepy smile. "No more bad dreams."

"Good." He smoothed her hair back with his fingers.

She pressed her lips to his, even though she knew she'd have morning breath.

He could smell it but he didn't say anything as he kissed her back.

She leaned down and nuzzled his neck. "Sorry about freaking out."

"It's alright. Though, I would like something in return." He rested his palm against her neck.

"What's that?" she asked, glancing up at him.

[isnt_the_same]

He kissed her lips before trailing down to her neck and whispering, "Can I?"

She hummed quietly and nodded, brushing her hair out of the way.

Arthur's fangs extended and then he bit into her.

Ariadne sucked in a breath, pressing closer as the familiar mix of pain and pleasure seeped through her body, intensified by her still-sleepy state.

He didn't take much so after a few minutes, he licked at the wound then sat up. "I'm going to take a shower."

"May I join you?" she asked, looking at him drowsily.

"Of course." He took her hand and pulled her out of bed.

She kissed his jaw, letting him lead her to the bathroom, tugging off the night shirt she was wearing - she didn't even have any panties on.

Arthur took off his pj bottoms, folded them neatly, and then set them down on the toilet seat lid before starting up the water.

She slipped in behind him, pressing close.

Arthur turned around and circled his arms loosely around her waist.

[chesstotem]

"Feels good," she murmured, though whether she was talking about the shower, or him, she didn't say. Probably both.

He smiled before leaning down to kiss her.

She returned the kiss, her fingers sliding into his hair.

[isnt_the_same]

Arthur took hold of her chin and tilted her head a little to the side so he could get a good look at her neck.

[chesstotem]

"Looking for something in particular?" she asked.

[isnt_the_same]

"Do you put a band-aid over them?" He asked, rubbing his thumb over the puncture wounds.

[chesstotem]

"No," she said. "I always wear scarves. No one can see them."
