The dark figures closed in around her, and panic seized in her belly. She tried to cry out for help, she knew Arthur had to be close, but no sound would come. She was alone, and a cold hand closed around her arm, vice-like -

"Yeah, I mean, I dunno. How do you feel about the fact that you may very well live to see the next few centuries?"

He shrugged. "I try not to think about it," he admitted.

"I'm sorry," she said quickly. "I didn't mean to bring up something that you're uncomfortable with."

[isnt_the_same]

He laughed and shook his head. "It's not that I'm uncomfortable with it, it's just...don't you think it's incredibly sad?"

"If it makes you sad, then yes," she said. "You're the one who has to deal with it, after all."

[isnt_the_same]

"What do you think about it then?" He asked as he sifted through his suitcase in her bedroom.

"I'm not sure," she said frankly. "On one hand... I've always felt like there's not enough time for everything I want to do. On the other hand, I imagine it's pretty lonely, unless you found someone who really, genuinely wanted to share it with you."

He nodded as he picked out a suit and went to put on underwear.

"Then of course, if you did find someone who wanted that, would you be willing to give it to them, is the big question."

[isnt_the_same]

"Is that suppose to be rhetorical?" He asked as he started buttoning his pants.

[chesstotem]

"Yeah," she said with a shrug.

He didn't speak for a while as he got dressed.

[chesstotem]

She wrapped her arms around him. "Sorry."

[isnt_the_same]

"No need to apologize," he assured her.

[chesstotem]

"Okay." She gave him a quick kiss. "Clearly, I need a job. So I stop pestering you with questions."

[isnt_the_same]

He laughed and nodded in agreement. "Have you gotten any offers?'

[chesstotem]

"A couple. But, I don't know. I like working with you. At the very least, I want you to vet them all for me."

[isnt_the_same]

"I can vet," he said as he handed her his tie. "Do you mind?"

[chesstotem]

"You think I know how to put a tie on?"

[isnt_the_same]

He lifted a brow. "You don't?"

[chesstotem]

"No. Why on Earth would I know how to do that?"

[isnt_the_same]

He huffed out a laugh before knotting his tie.

"No, wait. Teach me."

[isnt_the_same]

"Alright." He undid his tie before pulling her over to a mirror and stand behind her. After brushing her hair behind her shoulders, Arthur slid the tie behind her neck and under her hair.

She let him guide her hands, learning the proper way to knot it.
