Everything was going well, and soon enough, they were able to bring the baby home. Ariadne was extra-excited, because even as nice as the hospital accommodations were, she really wanted her own bed and some of Arthur's cooking.

Of course, the baby never let her sleep more than three hours at a stretch.

She groaned, shifting to look at the clock. An ungodly hour of the morning, as she expected. But the baby's cries were coming in loud and clear over the monitor. She sighed and stretched.

"You better," she murmured, dozing towards sleep. It would be only a few hours, then the baby would need something.

At least it was dawn when she started crying again. Arthur wasn't as alert this time though. "Ariadne?" He muttered, his eyes still closed.

"Mm," she muttered, rubbing her eyes as she climbed out of bed. "My turn."

"Diaper duty," he muttered before falling asleep again.

"Thanks for offering to make coffee or something," she joked quietly at his sleeping form. It was a matter of habit by now, making her way into the nursery, holding Eleanor gently to stop her from crying, then taking her to the changing table. Ariadne smiled down at her daughter, tickling her feet.

Arthur turned and draped his arm over Ariadne's empty spot. Somewhere as he slept, he could hear them on the monitor.

She kissed the tiny, perfect feet, then picked the baby up and rocked her gently. She would be smiling soon, Ariadne knew.

Arhur turned again and woke up. He could never truly fall back asleep without ariadne beside him.

Ariadne was happily playing with the baby in the nursery, counting fingers and toes, kissing the crown of her head, and blowing raspberries against her soft skin.

Arthur walked into the nursery, eyes still half closed with sleep. "Coffee?" He asked.

"Please," Ariadne said with relief, taking the baby to the rocking chair.

He nodded before walking back out and going down to the kitchen. It was a little brighter than the last time he was in here so he was awake more as he started the coffee maker. After it was done brewing, he poured them each a cup and added Ariadne's usual amount of cream and sugar, leaving his black, before walking back upstairs.

She looked up at him as he entered the room and smiled. The baby was dozing off in her arms.

Arthur set her mug down on a side table by the rocking chair before leaning against the crib and sipping his coffee.

"Thanks, honey," she said, shifting the baby around so she could drink her coffee. "Couldn't go back to sleep?"

"I sleep better when you're there," he explained.

She laughed. "Funny how that works, isn't it?"

He grinned. "It is."

[chesstotem]

"C'mere and give me a kiss, you," she teased.

He walked over and bent down as she sat in the rocking chair. Arthur pressed his lips against her.

She smiled into the kiss. "Good morning, Arthur," she murmured.

"Morning dear," he said in reply, grinning.

[chesstotem]

"What's on the schedule for today?" she asked.

[dontthinkabout]

"Breakfast for us, then another feeding and burping. Maybe try to get a nap in before we have to change her diaper..." He trailed off then as he thought about it more.

She laughed. "Our lives are so exciting these days. Maybe we should try to have an evening out sometime. Have your mom or my parents watch the baby for a couple hours, we can go out to dinner or something."
