Everything was going well, and soon enough, they were able to bring the baby home. Ariadne was extra-excited, because even as nice as the hospital accommodations were, she really wanted her own bed and some of Arthur's cooking.

Of course, the baby never let her sleep more than three hours at a stretch.

She groaned, shifting to look at the clock. An ungodly hour of the morning, as she expected. But the baby's cries were coming in loud and clear over the monitor. She sighed and stretched.

He nodded and poured two glasses of orange juice. Arthur returned to the table and set her glass down by her plate before sitting down across from her.

They were still eating when Ariadne's parents showed up. "Hi, honey," her mother said, kissing the top of her head.

"Hi, mom. She's sleeping upstairs," Ariadne said right away. "You guys hungry?"

"We already ate, but is there still coffee?"

"Sure."

Arthur greeted his in laws before goig to pour them each a cup of coffee.

"Would you guys like to babysit some evening this week?" Ariadne asked.

"Sure! You two want a night out?" Grant said with a knowing smile.

"Yeah..."

"We're not abandoning her" he joked. "Dont worry."

"Dammit, Arthur, why'd you say that? Now we can't run away to Rio like we've been planning!" Ariadne joked.

"Maybe when she's older," he continued.

"When she's older, we'll be older, too," she pointed out.

"Not too old," he pointed out.

[chesstotem]

"Is this the part where you tell me I'll never grow old in your eyes or something ridiculous like that?"

"Something like that," he replied with a grin.

Ariadne's parents rather stealthily left the kitchen, probably to go upstairs and watch the baby sleep.

Ariadne just grinned at Arthur. "That's why I love you."

He smiled in return before finishing up his breakfast.

Ariadne silently handed him her plate to wash up.

Arthur cleared the table and went to rinse everything before putting everything in the dish washer.

"Naptime?" Ariadne asked with a laugh.

He grinned tiredly. "Nap time sounds good."

"Mom, me and Arthur are going to lie down and rest for a while," Ariadne called as she climbed the stairs. "Can you and Grant watch the baby for an hour or so?"

"Sure," her mother answered, head popping out of the nursery.

Arthur pulled her in and closed the door behind them before getting into bed again.

Ariadne climbed in, pressing her mouth to his lazily.

"Mm, sleep," he said groggily, eyes already half closed.

"Mm-hm," she managed, using his chest as a pillow as she dozed off.

Arthur was right there with her when he fell back asleep almost immediately.
