The night Ariadne met Aubrey, things didn't turn out as they were supposed to. It started out just fine - they met in the bar they'd agreed on, chatted inside for a while about nonsense like the weather, then stepped outside to talk business.

It was as though the dark figure had been waiting for them - Aubrey was right in the middle of a sentence when suddenly a tall figure swooped in out of nowhere and descended on her like a rabid dog. Ariadne screamed as the person - thing - whatever it was - ripped her throat out, and the next thing she knew she was running blindly back towards the street, something warm trickling down her temple. The time that followed was fuzzy - she knew she must've ran for a while, because she was out of breath, but then she was in a cab (the cabbie was giving her a funny look, maybe to do with that warm trickle), and then she was at a hotel, getting more funny looks as she stumbled into the elevator.

Then she was pounding on Arthur's door, praying to whatever gods might be listening that he was inside.

Like he promised, he didn't take much, and soon he lifted his head up from her neck with a small smile.

She didn't feel bad at all - maybe a little bit drowsy. "So, uh, was it worth the wait?" she asked, toying with the hair on the back of his neck.

"Mm, yes it was." He reached into his pocket and took out his handkerchief before wiping the blood from her neck.

For some reason, that brought a goofy sort of smile to her lips, and she pressed even closer, kissing his jaw. "Bedroom?" she asked again hopefully.

"Sure," he replied, walking her back towards the door.

Ariadne pressed more kisses to his jaw and neck as they made their way towards the bedroom. She tugged his tie off unceremoniously, then started on the buttons.

Arthur chuckled and held her close against him.

"What're you laughing at?" she asked, but this time the question was much more playful. "It's been a long time for me, too."

"I can tell," he said with a smirk.

"You'd better make this worth it, if you're going to keep being rude like that," she teased.

"Oh, I will," he promised.

"I'm not very impressed so far," she retorted.

Arthur laughed as he snaked his hand under her shirt.

She leaned in to kiss him, pushing his shirt off his shoulders.

Arthur let it fall to floor before he started in on her shirt, lifting it up around her waist.

His mouth tasted vaguely of blood, but it didn't bother her. She broke the kiss just long enough to let him get her shirt off over her head, then pressed her mouth to his again, her hands running down his chest.

His hands rested on her shoulders for a moment before htey slid down to her bra clasp.

She wasn't sure what he'd think - as far as Ariadne was concerned, she and Mal were as different physically as it was possible to be. And Arthur had been intimate with Mal, more than she had realized.

It was silly to be comparing herself to a dead woman, but she couldn't help it.

He ran his hand down the front of her chest before it slid down to her ass, cupping it gently.

She fumbled a little with his trousers, and finally shoved them down past his hips, wrapping her hand around his cock.

He let out a sigh as he swiftly undid her jeans.

She traced his length curiously, then gave him a few firm strokes, watching his face. "How would you like it?" she asked.

"How would you like it?" He countered.

"On the bed," she said with a little smile, backing away from him and stepping out of her jeans and underwear. She climbed onto the bed, stretching out lazily. "I can't decide on anything more specific than that," she admitted. "What do you think?"

"Bed's fine." He took off the rest of his clothes and joined her, crawling onto the mattress on his hands and knees.
