She felt a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach when he pulled away from her, but didn't move. She reminded herself firmly that she shouldn't be doing this with him in the first place, so what did it matter if he spooked and ended it? She knew very well it could never get really serious between them.

"Good night, Arthur," she finally murmured.
