Moving Day (for dontthinkabout)

Ariadne knew that the day all their new furniture got delivered to the condo would be busy - she'd done her best to time all the delivery arrivals so that there wouldn't be too much of a clusterfuck, but inevitably there were about three trucks parked on the street at any given time.

And she had a lot of burly delivery men to direct.

"Master bedroom, please," she said firmly to one group, then turned to another couple of guys, who were hauling her drafting table. "Careful with that, please take it to the breakfast nook, that space to the back of the kitchen with all the windows. Thanks..."

Yes. I do," she said primly, finishing off her steak. "Would you pour me another glass of wine, please?"

“Of course.” He took the bottle off the table and neatly poured more wine into her glass before refilling his as well.

"There's still so much to do," she murmured, glancing around until her eyes fell on the breakfast nook where her drafting table stood. She smiled fondly, sipping her wine with the air of a satisfied cat.

“Luckily, we have all the time in the world,” he said as he finished up the last of his steak.

Her little smile turned into a grin as she looked at him. "I'm not worried. Excited."

“Me too.” He returned her grin before taking a long sip of his wine. “So are we going to properly christen our bedroom tonight?”

"I guess that depends on you," she said with a smirk. "I had a nap this afternoon, you didn't."

"I'm sure I'll have enough energy to keep up with you," he countered.

"I'll hold you to that promise," she said. "We've got to thoroughly test that mattress."

“I couldn’t agree more,” he nodded, smirking before standing up to go wash the dishes.

Ariadne joined him, taking her plate and glass to the sink. It wouldn't take much - the delivery guys had brought in a nice new dishwasher.

Taking her dish and glass, he rinsed and placed them in the dishwater. After drying his hands, he turned to face Ariadne, took her chin between his thumb and pointer finger, and leaned down to kiss her.

She smiled into the kiss, arms sliding around his neck. "Welcome home, Arthur."

He smiled down at her as his arms wrapped firmly around her waist. “It’s good to be home.”

"I'm glad you think so," she murmured. "Now, are you going to make love to me, or what?"

“Yes. Yes, I am.” Effortlessly, he lifted her up around his hips and walked up the stairs to their bedroom.

She laughed, holding onto him tightly, even though she knew he'd never drop her in a million years. "You're so strong," she teased. "Very sexy."

“And you’re so light.” He bent his head and kissed the side of her neck as he kicked the door open. Gently, he set her down on the bed.

"I know, I'm practically a munchkin," she joked, rolling her eyes and tugging him down with her. Or trying to, anyway.

He planted his palms on the bed on either side of her as she pulled down him. “But much sexier than a munchkin.”

"That's good, at least." She leaned up to kiss him gently. "I wouldn't want you to not be attracted to me."

“That’s impossible,” he said against her lips. “You know, I’m still amazed when I think about the fact that I’m going to marry you at the end of the month.” Lifting his hand, he tucked a lock of her hair behind her ear.

"Amazed in a good way, I hope," she said, trailing her fingers up his chest lightly. "Amazed, excited, ecstatic..."

“Overjoyed, blissful, loved…” He added before sighing.

She grinned. "Worshiped..."
